John A. Pandiani, Ph.D.

John holds a doctorate in sociology from the University of Connecticut and a Certificate in Public Management from the State of Vermont. He is a partner in The Bristol Observatory where his responsibilities include research and report design, oversight of data analysis, and day-to-day management of operations. His current research interests focus on mental health and substance abuse treatment outcomes and the relationship between human service and criminal justice systems. 

In addition to his work with The Bristol Observatory, John has been Chief of Mental Health Research and Statistics in Vermont for 20 years.  Before joining the state, John was Research Director at Washington County Mental Health Services and Assistant Professor of Sociology at Middlebury College in Vermont. He has published extensively in mental health program evaluation and service system research.  His work has a strong emphasis on using existing data resources.

   

Jill Mackler, Ed.D.

Jill holds a doctorate in educational administration from the University of Vermont.  Her responsibilities at TBO include contract and fiscal management and organizational oversight.   Her primary human service research interests focus on interagency collaboration, especially between educational and human services programs.

In addition to her work at TBO, Jill is the co-principal at Bristol Elementary School in Bristol, Vermont.

 

Karen L. Danyow

Karen studied a wide range of data management and presentation tools at Champlain College.  Her work with The Bristol Observatory involves data preparation, management, and analysis, data presentation, report preparation, and web page management.  Her professional interests center on computer data base development and management.

In addition to her work with the Bristol Observatory, Karen teaches the full range of Microsoft Office Suite products as well as accounting software applications.  She has worked in computer technology at Vermont’s University Health Center, and has provided data base and web page development services to a variety of small businesses and public agencies.  

 

Brennan Martin, MPH. 
 
 Brennan holds a Master's degree in Public Health from Tufts University.  His work with The Bristol Observatory involves computer programming, data management and analysis.  His primary research interests focus on the relationship between behavioral and physical health, and the utilization of physical health services by individual with behavioral health disorders.  

In addition to is work with The Bristol Observatory, Brennan works as a data analyst in the Vermont Department of Health.

 

M. Christine Van Vleck, M.S.

Christine holds a Master's degree in Biostatistics from the University of Vermont. Her work with The Bristol Observatory involves computer programming, data management and analysis, and presentation of findings. Her primary mental health research interests relate to caseload overlap and organizational complexity in human service agencies, and health issues for adults with serious mental illness . 

In addition to her work with The Bristol Observatory, Christine works as Mathematical Statistician at the US Census.  Prior to joining the US Census, Christine worked as a data analyst in the Vermont Cancer Registry.

 

Olivia J. Hunter

Olivia holds a BA in Sociology and Human Services from Simmons College in Boston, MA.  Her work with The Bristol Observatory involves data management and analysis, and report preparation. Her primary research interests relate to children’s mental health and the relationships of gender, physical health, mental health, and substance abuse.  

Before joining The Bristol Observatory, Olivia worked as a Grants Data Specialist with the Burlington, VT school district.
